Launching Bowen & Company’s Wedding Division

To celebrate the launch of a new division, exclusively devoted to weddings and private events, Bowen & Company hosted an invitation-only fête at Andaz 5th Avenue in June 2011.

Over the years, Bowen & Company had privately accepted a few choice wedding assignments through our corporate and nonprofit clients.  Without exception, all these couples were very busy people, and our ability to act as editors and master organizers–without sacrificing quality or creativity—became of paramount importance.  We discovered that our corporate and non-profit experience was actually our “secret weapon.”  Thus, the party was appropriately themed “Marrying Strategy and Style.”

We engaged some of our favorite vendors to entertain the guest list of valued clients, friends, and colleagues.  Andaz 5th Avenue provides a unique, interactive setting because of its open kitchen, where chefs prepared a menu that included smoked bacon and apple coleslaw crostini, roasted marble potato with crème fraîche, and caviar and organic mushroom strudel.   Two stations, decorated with lush florals in a variety of antique vessels, each held a selection of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, and of course no wedding celebration would be complete without cake.  We showcased a tiered vanilla pound cake with salted caramel buttercream, as well as an assortment of confections to satisfy the most discriminating sweet tooth. As a parting gift, guests received a branded muddle and recipe for the party’s signature gin mojito cocktail.  It was a terrific way to kick off the summer season and our exciting new venture.
