A Royal Wedding

King and Queen for a day. These were the wishes of the bride and groom as they planned their elegant, autumnal New York City nuptials. Like sovereigns for generations, the couple found inspiration in the color purple, and so the venue’s unique historic architecture was resplendent with deeply-hued calla lilies, orchids, and hydrangeas, accented by a signature touch of sparkle. A tiered buttercream wedding cake featured a cascade of the wedding florals, and a surprise groom’s cake—planned by the bride—depicted the king’s crown, which in this case was his favorite New York Yankees cap.

A strong sense of family was certainly at the heart of this celebration. The bride and groom offered personal sentiments to loved ones in a heartfelt program note, during a touching welcome at the ceremony’s start, and with musical tributes throughout the evening. Contributions to the family’s charitable cause served as gifts for guests, acknowledged in elegant miniature chocolate boxes. Haitian readings, hors d’oeuvres, and music paid homage to the groom’s family’s rich cultural heritage. And, after the guests’ reveling finally wound to a close, the King and Queen lived happily ever after.
